Chairman's Corner

One of the meetings I attend on a regular basis is the County Managers meeting. At this gathering we discuss items that are of interest from around the districts and also look at ongoing projects. “Look Out” is one such project and, after the discussion we had at the last Managers Meeting, I have no doubt that we have hit the ground running for 2009 with regard to County run events. “Look Out” promises to be a highly informative, interesting and enjoyable day for all who attend. There will be a number of workshops covering various topics ranging from practical skills training for inclusion at scout meetings to marketing and media strategies for promotion of groups. Attendees will have the opportunity to sit in on a number of these workshops during the day and ask questions about the topics covered and also contribute to the day by passing on their experiences. It is not designed to be a day of tutorials but a day of shared experiences with all who attend benefiting from each others knowledge.

Another advantage of the day is the opportunity to catch up with other members of the movement who you may not have seen for a time and also to make new contacts that will be of use in the future. The events are to be run over 3 days and details of dates, times and venues will be published via WISPA, Email via District Teams and on the web site.
