County Outlook - Dave Bramston
Happy New Year!By now ALL adult members, helpers and executive members must have a valid CRB clearance as this is now a MANDATORY condition of membership. Your DC can check if you’re not sure or give me a call/send me an email.
Great news! We have some new groups and sections across the county that started in January; so welcome to them and Thank You for volunteering.
Keep an eye open for the County road shows “LookOut 2009” in March. The more I hear from the organising team the more I believe all our adults will feel more supported by attending a session. They are designed to help to lighten the load and explore ways to work smarter.
The next Jamboree is 2011 in Sweden. Warwickshire will be bidding for at least one contingent of 36 Explorers supported by 4 leaders. The leader recruitment process will be starting shortly, look out for information.
It is encouraging to see the tremendous growth in new members to the County team. Already they are starting to improve the support the County gives to Districts and I am amazed by the new skills and enthusiasm they have brought.
“Just ask people to help” it works!

Warwickshire County Scout Fellowship
Over the winter County Fellowship took on the project of maintaining the Broadwater Chapel Site. The cross had been re-erected for the Remembrance Day service and since then half of the Chapel boundary posts have been put in. In the next few weeks the remainder will be erected and rope put in between as a temporary measure. In the Spring, bushes will be planted to make a permanent boundary around the site. By then a new cross will have been made to replace the existing one.

NUNEATON & DISTRICT EXPLORER SCOUTS
Nuneaton Explorers recently held their annual Ready, Steady, Cook competition. Nine teams from the district took part in preparing a three course meal for under £10. Having purchased their food from nearby ASDA they had one hour to prepare the meal.
The judges were DC Clive Dunn and County Fellowship Secretary Margaret Russell. After a very close run event, judged on variety, menu, presentation, and of course taste, the winners were announced as the Attleborough team.
